Tips on how to set a bush run !

General principles:

Bush runs normally last for up to 2 hours with one or even two water stops included.

The “A” site can be anywhere up to 90 min away from Pattaya (further for Special Outstation Runs). Consider the amount of shade from the sun or shelter from rain (depending on the season).

A minimum of two (one short and one long) runs should be made.  The short run can terminate at a water stop, from which persons can ride on the beer truck until it returns to the “A” site. 'A' to 'A' runs are normal but occasionally 'A' to 'B' to 'C' to 'A' runs are set. Good runs are those taking place in the Bush. Dirt roads are OK. Concrete and black top will result in the hare sitting on a lot of ICE!

Hares or prospective Hares should report in to the relevant hash dignitary ie Rabid Bitch at clivebryan@hotmail.com and/or one of our Joint Bushmasters: The Tickler or Tadpole. Believe it or not we need to know what’s going on!

A few more important details !

The Pattaya Bush Hash use 360 degree checks constructed from dead or broken tree branches etc, placed just off any dirt track and sprayed with paint of the Hares choice (usually red). Take care to spray the paint onto the dirt and not to spray paint onto concrete or tarmac roads, rocks or brick walls of any kind.

The checks are represented by an 'X' shape; the true trail leading from the check is usually no more than 120 meters (as the crow flies) from the check.

If False Trails (FT's) are used, they should also be placed around 120 meters from the check. FT's are also constructed from bits of wood and sprayed with paint

Shredded paper is provided by the Hares along with any paint. Also, the Hares bring along fruit and potato chips for after the run although the Bush will compensate the Hares for these snacks.
