Bush Hash meeting: Tuesday 24th November 2009
Present: Tampax, Arseaholic, GI Joe, Mrs Head, Stinky Sloppy Seconds, V.V and Ball Ringer
16:00 hrs at Khun John's Restaurant, Mapbrachan lake, Nongprue, Pattaya
1. December Run
The Norwegian run will start early at 2pm because of falling light levels. The hares have kindly offered to provide A-site food but the Bush will also provide the usual on site barbeque for those who prefer V.V’s cooking.
2. Bush accounts
GI Joe will unfortunately miss the December run as he will be returning to his home country for several weeks. Because of this, GI Joe handed over the bulk of the Bush funds to Tampax. However, Ball Ringer has kindly agreed to take over the role as hash cash and take care of sign-ups with Ringworm until GI Joe returns in January. We will then most likely open a bank account with several signatures as a safeguard.
As Tadpole was unable to attend the meeting, Tampax will collect the bush photos (for posting on the web site) and t-shirt money from Tadpole (remainder of the bush funds) within the next few days.
As far as the bush accounts are concerned, the last run proved to be a big success as both Tadpole and V.V were very busy on the day and their efforts helped to boost the bush funds. This helped to offset the considerable cost of our recent t-shirt bills. As a result, the bush total assets are still healthy. We are hoping that the barbeque will subsidize the cost of renting the beer truck for future runs.
3. March Outstation run
Pussy Virus has offered to hare the outstation run and Kanchanaburi has been agreed upon as the location for the event. As there are concerns about overspending and the desire to retain some amount of control of the Bush finances, the mismanagement will try to work closely with the hares to ensure that the event will fall within our parameters. An announcement will be made at the December run. Mrs Head has agreed to try and determine the approximate costs of an air-conditioned bus for the weekend. It seems likely that we will ask that the cost of the transport be included in the cost of the run. Hopefully the Bush will be in a position by March to provide some sort of additional funding for the outstation run.
4. T-shirts
We have a considerable stock of t-shirts available and so Tadpole has expressed a desire to hold off on additional purchases until a month or two. However, Tadpole has some good ideas about the type of future t-shirts and other haberdashery.
5. Beer truck
At present, the arrangement for storing the beer coolers and the logistics in collecting both the beer truck and coolers is putting some strain on the bush beer truck crew. As Stinky Sloppy Seconds will miss the December run, Arseaholic has kindly offered to assist The Dog on the next run. From January, we hope to change the system in order to make life easier for the brew master to collect the beer truck and store the coolers.
6.The next Bush AGM run
In order to avoid any misunderstandings and keep tighter control of our costs on next years AGM run, it is possible that the food for the next AGM run will be provided by a number of our regular bush girls. In addition, we may be able to hold the event at the home of one of our regular members whose house is conveniently located to cater for both our Bangkok and Pattaya hashers. We will keep you posted.
