Bush Hash meeting: Tuesday 20th October 2009

1. Bush Meeting
For this meeting, Tampax sponsored and provided the liquid refreshments and V.V. kindly used the left over pork from the recent bush A-site barbeque (which otherwise would have gone to waste) to make a Spaghetti Bolegnaise which we consumed after the meeting.
2. Haberdasher
Tadpole has recently purchased a variety of Bush T-shirts that were available for visitors on the last run. They proved to be a success as considerable interest was shown in them which kept Tadpole very busy.
Tadpole presented our hash cash GI Joe with the details of t-shirt stock purchased etc.
3. A-site Barbeque
After much anticipation, we finally got our Bush Barbeque going on the last run of which we managed to off load around 38% of our stock. Even so, we have still managed to recover the investment (and with a little on top.) We voted to have the Barbeque available on the next run. A big thanks to V.V for his hard work and also to his assistant Madame Claude who kindly helped out on the day.
V.V presented the meeting with details of stock purchased and used. It is hoped that the Barbeque can help subsidize some of our considerable running expenses in the future.
4. Charlie Manson 50th Birthday Bash in November
Tadpole and Tampax will hopefully get together and sort out the quantity and sizes of the Birthday bash commemorative t-shirt to have available for the next run. We will also need to inform the bus company that we will require the bus for a little bit more time than usual for the next run as we will be stopping off at the Restaurant after the run.
5. Outstation run
We once again debated the location of the March outstation run. To this end, Mrs Head and Tampax will visit one or two areas to
check out the possibilities.
6. Hare Awards
We discussed the very real possibility of re-introducing awards for hares. All awards were cancelled more that 2 years ago after it was proven at the time that we could not sustain them. If it proves feasible, then we will start with a new system and also type. At this time, awards is obviously a low priority although we intend to get a sample made very soon.
7, Finances
Following the considerable expense of our recent T-shirt purchase, our reserves have been diminished to a lower than desired level. We will need to purchase yet more t-shirts for the November birthday bash but hope to recover a good amount of that on the day. We anticipate it could take several months to bring up our reserves again.
Hopefully, regular t-shirt sales and the A-site barbeque may help to offset the recent loss.
