RUN REPORT

Pattaya Bush Run # CXXXI (131)

Run Story By:
Bam Bam

Well here we are, 2nd Saturday of the month, Pattaya Bush Hash day and my first run as GM of the Bush H3.

Arriving at the A site after collecting the stools for the last time, thanks Horse for volunteering to bring them each run (when you get back from the Philippines that is) I find a motley crew of the usual faces, waiting in anticipation to see what Ball Ringer and Bell End have come up with this time, planning for such an event can take Ball Ringer up to 3 years and 450 reccies to get it just right. (Note: he walked the entire run in the morning to ensure that it was “Just Right”)

The number of hashers is steadily growing and when the bus arrives it appears to be somewhat full, nice turn out, 57 hashers is a great number (someone said they must of heard Tampax wasn’t GM anymore 5555)

It’s nice and cool at the start, unusual for this time of year, GM calls the circle and addresses the masses for the first time, announcing some “ground rules” for the coming year and then invites visitors and virgins to join him for a down down, then invites Ball Ringer to explain the run, 30 minutes later a comment is heard wanting to know when the paperback edition was coming out.

Eventually the pack is off on today’s marathon, front runners and the stealthy Bam Bam and Spaghetti Head into the water stop in around 1 hour 40 minutes after negotiating some 300 checks, back checks and FT’s and terrain varying from the usual cassava fields, to long grasses, palm oil plantations, creek beds, gullies (goolies to Cabbage Knievel) and the odd wasp/hornet or bee, thank Buddha it came when it did, I was starting to get white line fever from the paper every 2 metres.

After announcing at the start, that the beer was off limits until those that had done at least the 1st stage had finished it, a good chunk of the pack decided that now the sun was out and blazing away, to take the short cut offered by the hares back to the A site from the drink stop and down a cold one, too bad it took the beer truck another 20 minutes or so to get back 5555, only a half dozen or so hardy hashers decided to continue on with part 2, including 2 super human efforts by 60 something’s, Cabbage Knievel and Jackal adding over an hour to their previous efforts, well done old chaps.

After some relax time while waiting for the marathon men and woman to return, food is served and circle called when the masses have finished grazing, the run is declared a success and much frivolity ensued and several “victims” pronounced.

To find out just what happens in a Bush circle, you will have to attend.
