Pattaya Bush Hash House Harriers Run #118 - Run Report

This is a run report with a difference, mainly because this scribe was appointed more than 1 week AFTER the event, leading to the principal consequent issue, which is that he can’t remember what happened this morning, let alone last week. Don’t we just love these Hashmasters, eh? Do give us a chance. And on an AGM run too, tut-tut. All this means that you may find in this report little of relevance to this run, and possibly snatches more reminiscent of other recent hashes.

Anyway, overall the afternoon turned out nice and sunny with scattered cloud - same as almost any other afternoon around Pattaya at this time of the year. If there was any rain around it didn’t bother us.

We met up at a site which we could perhaps describe as O, a few km east of Highway 7. This was a muster point to get all the hashers together, and after a few formalities the bus took us a few km to the run start point.

The trail began uphill along a temple site road, then branched off in all sorts of directions so that those of us without in-built GPS had little idea of where we were heading. It took us through true bush country with running sections and scrabbling sections interleaved. After numerous twists, turns and devilish checks (damned clever these hares) we found ourselves passing an equestrian dominated area (horses) and reached the water stop by a small lake. After refreshment we again found ourselves in the true bush with all its hills, steep and slippery paths. The highlight of this section was when the dog got lost. At least, some people thought it was lost, but owners and dog appeared to have found themselves eventually. The end of the run was actually at site “O” (see above).

This excellent run was followed by a further bus trip to the down-down, held at the grand establishment of 2 of this run’s hares Greyhound and That’s the One, where several hashers sampled the pool.

In case there is no other forum for expressing sentiments related to the circle, let us mention what a great job the hares did. As well as organising the run they laid on what can only be described as a culinary delight in a most enjoyable environment. The range of sustenance, from delicious Thai dishes to plain boiled and delicious prawns, to BBQ prawns and chicken, would be hard to beat.

So, HARES... that is........

Greyhound, Mrs Head, Squeeze My Tube, Tampax, That’s the One, and VV,......
