Pattaya Jungle Monkey H3 Gospel (Constitution)

Document concept (mission statement); what this document aims to accomplish.

To serve as a guide and a source of historic reference for hares and mismanagement. To show that we are both accountable and transparent. To record democratically made changes and when they were made. To be a living and constantly evolving document able to cover eventualities as they may occur.

Now running on the 3rd Friday of every second month.

No Cracks, No Secrets, No Poofs, No moaning

Motto: Can’t do – Don’t do

Target Pack size; minimum of 25 to a maximum of 35

Target run time; 105 to 135 minutes to include 15 minute water stop, at around the halfway point. Injured runners choosing to bail at this point may do so at risk to their own arse.

A-B-A OR A-B-C up to the hares. It’s becoming a Monkey tradition that the C-site has a water feature that can be used for swimming. However this is not mandatory or indeed always possible.

Cost not to exceed 700 Baht. The sign up fee may need to be reviewed in 2008. Payment in full by the date set by hares. Suggested final day for full payment is the Monday before relevant Friday. Hares may accept late or on the day sign ups at their discretion with no guarantees of shirt/ memento or meal. No shows; Will only receive the shirt with no cash refunds.

Hare’s Responsibilities

1. Transport:
May use any form of transport to deliver pack to A-site. Previously departing from the Thistle Bar between 10:00 and 12:00 pm. (Up to the Hares) returning to the venue by 7:30 pm. Hares to consider the cost of transport when selecting it, and may wish to work for discounts in this regard. Refer also to paragraph 7 “time frame”. Hash bus driver (tel 086 1688082 Johnnie tralala)

2. Venue:
This should be located in the Pattaya area extending from Jomtien in the south, Naklua in the north and Maprachan/Siam C. Club in the east. For security reasons (threat of Terrorist attack !) the venue should be only revealed at the last moment. Entertainment (of sorts) and meal should be available or close by.

3. Food:
a) Carbo boost; (up to the hares) at water stop, (Suggestions; bananas, chocolate)
b) Pre circle: very basic, bread and fillings for the making of sandwiches, peanuts, bananas etc. (up to the hares)
c) Venue hot meal; usually retailing for around 150 Baht. Buffets work also. Hares may wish to work for discounts to reduce their costs in this area.

4. T shirt:
We are hoping to continue out sourcing to Malaysia the supply and printing of future shirts at around the 150 baht target. Hares should arrange to have their design on a disc so that it may be E-mailed preferably at least 14 days in advance of run date. They should also confer with mismanagement as to what previous obligations to existing sponsors and if adding their own new sponsor, what they may offer space and size wise on the shirt. Also in addition to hares names and run number, our web site address should be included (www.pattayahash.com/monkey.html).

5. Invitations:
(Up to the hares) but good idea to include deadlines for payment, any late or on the day raised sign up fee information, departure times and any special instructions. For an example, future hares please contact mismanagement.

6. Beer, water, softies and ice:
After allowing for water, ice and softies the hares should have recorded at signup, the beer of choice. We can now proportion the balance of cash for the beer purchase (not forgetting beer for down downs choice of which is up to the Hares).

7. Time frame:
Hares to produce a best guess timed guide for the G. Master of the whole day – considering location of A and C site, venue, length of run etc. As we now have access to on site lighting, hares may wish to start and finish proceedings later than previous Monkey’s, no longer being limited by darkness. For an example, future hares please contact mismanagement.

8. Accounts:
The brew master is to provide details to both hares and accountant of what has or will be purchased and what remains. Hares should provide all relevant account information to the accountant/mismanagement. Listing of (sponsorship if any) income and outgoings and balance if any. List of runners names to be provided. Future hares particularly virgin hares should be furnished with the accounts for at least three monkey runs to facilitate budgeting and standardize the accounting method.

9. Residual Beer or cash:
Left over stock (water, beer, softies, shirts) should be sold at cost to whom so ever will buy it (perhaps PJH3 or PBH3). The Monkey has developed and will maintain a contingency account to pay for cups, bags, nappies and future awards now approved. Payments over 1000 baht from this balance may only be made by democratic approval of the mismanagement.

10. Sponsors:
Records are to be kept of the clubs commitments to our sponsors so we may honor them

FOR DETAILS OF GOLD, SILVER, BRONZE SPONSORSHIP and their related options please contact Festering Streaker:( itsstreaker@gmail.com )

Sponsorship Payment terms;
To avoid accounting /payment delays, all club sponsor deals under our terms of Gold, Silver and Bronze options are to be paid in advance save Gold which may be half up front and half post run after our commitments have been met. All silver and gold sponsors will receive a framed certificate of acknowledgement and a tax deductible receipt for advertisement services. Bronze sponsors will only receive the tax deductible receipt.

11. Hares:
There should be no less than two hares, preferably three. Consideration of driving licenses when deciding A to B or C or even A to B to A being a water stop. Most likely there will be two trucks and a bus that will require moving from A to C (somehow). If the total paid sign ups is more than 20 then one hare will run for free and if more than 30 then two hares will run for free. The mismanagement reserves the right to withdraw the above hare free run allowance due to variables such as T-shirt costs etc (approved at meeting of Jan 10th 08).

12. Web site:
Launched Friday the 14th September with sponsors A, B, and C included. This web site should not ever be host to any politics and should remain linked to other hashes by unanimous vote of the Monkey mismanagement as appearing listed on it as Monkey troop. Posting of this document on the Monkey web site (excluding specific sponsorship details and historic amendments) was approved at the meeting of Jan 10th 08.

13. Sign up information:
Besides hash names, T shirt size, beer choice and of course money ! The hares should take full names and all possible contact information such as E-mail/mobile phone numbers.

14. Props:
Generally this has proved to be a contentious issue, however if hares can budget for this within the standard sign up fee, mismanagement do not see a problem. Previously (since run number 8) the standard sign up fees have made a small return for the hash club, therefore any overspending must rest with the hares. Historically, when hares have introduced props, they have arranged income for the club under our sponsorship scheme, utilizing an amount from it equal to approximately 80 baht per sign up (example maximum 35 runner’s gives maximum 2800 baht that may be utilized from any gold or silver sponsorship the hares have arranged).

15. Awards:
The mismanagement have agreed to award those runners achieving 12 Monkey runs.
